Magnet width

Width of a breadloaf magnet.


The dimensions of breadloaf magnets are defined by their width, the magnet thickness, and the magnet radius. Fig. 1 shows the definition of the magnet width on the example of a 4-pole machine design. The magnet width in Fig. 1 corresponds approximately to a magnet angle of 120 electrical degrees.

Breadloaf magnets are only suitable for inner-rotor machine designs.
