The company Emetor was founded in 2009 by Dr. Stephan Meier and is today located in Västerås, Sweden. Our mission is to provide our clients with state-of-the-art tools and services in the design of electric motors and generators. We believe that we can best achieve this goal by providing our clients with our custom-made, highly flexible and customizable electric motor design tool Emetor. The company Emetor is currently non-active.
Emetor had major international companies such as Bombardier Transportation or Atlas Copco Tools amongst their clients. With our help, they could improve their efficiency in designing electric motors.
N.B. The name Emetor is a composition of the words EME and MOTOR. EME was the abbreviation for the Lab of electrical machines and power electronics at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, where a first version of the electric motor design software Emetor has been developed.
Emetor is the world's first and only online electric motor design software. A first version has been developed during the years 2003-2008 at the lab of Electrical Machines and Power Electronics at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. It was an analytical tool for the design of permanent-magnet synchronous machines. This first version of the software Emetor has been partly made available online as an educational version and can be found for free use at http://184.108.40.206/emetor.php.
Starting in late 2009, the software Emetor has been further developed and is now based on the finite element method. The software Emetor aims to be fast and intuitive as an analytical tool while being accurate and powerful as a finite element tool. Currently, Emetor is fully maintained and functional, but not further developped. Nonetheless, Emetor is still a valuable tool to assist you in making your electric motor designs more efficient.
